NEILL COLLINS PREVIEWS TRANMERE MEETING Interviews Our Head Coach gave his thoughts to the assembled media ahead of Tuesday night's Carabao Cup Round One tie with Tranmere Rovers. Continue reading on the official site...
I don't expect anything in these weird early cup games. I'll take no daft injuries and suspensions. If we can get to third round great but reckon he's right giving folk a run out.
I agree as we’re threadbare, particularly in midfield. It’ll be fairly easy to rotate the keeper, certain sections of the back five and up top but we definitely run the risk of injuries in midfield that could impact our league campaign. Everyone loves a cup run but given where we are squad wise I’d happily chalk this one off.
Give me both. It doesn't need to be one or the other. We are suppose to be skint. 1 or 2 changes from the weekend and win the tie. Hopefully then we get a money spinning tie at home like Leeds, Washday, or Blunts.
If Styles gets polaxed in midfield by a Southport Donkey and it costs the club £2 million and a midfielder down to boot would you be saying same?
Given the uncertainty regarding Connell and styles it wouldn’t make sense at all reckon with rotation we will still have enough to beat tranmere
You have to take the risk, otherwise what's the point. I'd rather we go all out to score goals and win games, even though I think this Lg Cup is a waste of space.
If its classed as game 2 of his ban, happy days. I'm not 100% sure how this applies, I'm sure some knowledgeable bbs er will have the facts.
I'm liking what I'm seeing/hearing from Collins. Just trying not to get too attached or invested in him. If he's successful, he'll be gone, so.
I'd be happy for us to go out I think. We don't have much midfield depth at the minute and it's going to be a long season, with longer than usual games.
