I don't think anyone would say that an isolated question makes anyone racist. But if someone receives an explanation and then carries on making the same ignorant points completely ignoring the answers given, then of course people are going to be a bit sceptical as to their true motivation.
I didn’t call anyone a bellend. And as the definition of ‘Little Englander’ can be debated, I’ll retract it. I do apologise. Where I referred to Little Englander in my previous post, please replace it with the term ‘ill educated, xenophobic bigot’. Thanks.
Weird how you have had repeated valid answers to that question but instead of acknowledging that and admitting your lack of educated insight into the subject, you just instead repeat the question. Very weird.
But yours wasn't a explanation. Maybe they have come and their familys can come at a later date. Send them a smoke signal or a message tied to a piegon?
My understanding was that the French govt offered for the UK to build a vetting centre in Calais just for this purpose, but the tories would rather whip up the Daily Heil and Scum readers rather than deal with the issue. It’s also worth noting that over 80% of asylum applications are accepted, the governments own info from 2022 is detailed below: What is the success rate of asylum applications? 81% were granted refugee status following an asylum application ('asylum') 6% were granted humanitarian protection. 2% were granted alternative forms of leave (such as discretionary leave, UASC leave) 11% were granted refugee status through resettlement schemes.3 Mar 2022 https://www.gov.uk › statistics › ho...
It doesn't take much common sense to figure out how it might work - they establish someone who will act as a point of contact for both parties, knowing that wherever they are they can correspond with that person who can forward contact details to/from the asylum seeker and the rest of the family.
I just used Google, which can be your friend. Of over 22,000 applications actually vetted last year 75% were granted. So 75% of your foreigners lurking on street corners are probably here with good reason. I don't see how people keep swallowing the obvious right wing media hype in preference to the actual facts. Other European countries on the asylum route take more people than the UK. The ones that arrive here are vetted according to our asylum policy and the rest returned. Those are the facts. If you don't like the backlog vote for a government that might actually try to address it.
Is that the method of communication you would use to contact someone, or is that another example of you not being derogatory to a certain group of people.
Where do you think the refugees are coming from, the stone ages? Syria (for example) has phone signal, internet connections and a postal service.
You’ve repeatedly been told why, you’ve also been told that the vast majority do claim asylum in countries they reach earlier, and yet you still carry on with your ill informed ranting.
But again it's guess work from you. If I was fleeing a war with my family I don't think I'd drag my kids 2 continents to get to England. But then again they are treated better than in many other countries.
He thinks they’re primitive people who’ve never heard of a phone (whilst probably also simultaneously thinking that they are all arriving with brand new smart phones) and can only communicate through grunts and pointing.
They’re not dragging the kids, I thought that was your main complaint? They are making the journey and then flying the kids over safely once their application has been processed.
