I’d love to see the fire safety and evacuation strategy. If the poor buggers on that boat have any sense they’ll raze the thing to the ground. Or the sea. Whatever.
Just to be clear, are you saying that because I can't conclusively prove what method of communication asylum seeking males use to reach their family back home (even though I've suggested something which is simple and makes perfect sense) you're entitled to treat any suggestion that men come over here in advance of their families as ********? I didn't even bother suggesting phones to avoid "if they can afford a phone why do they need to come here"?
https://www.unhcr.org/uk/asylum-uk Here's some reading material for educational purposes for the posters with a minority viewpoint on this thread. Yes, I know you won't bother.
But it was all guess work and assumptions. Like I said they get treated here better than many countries but am out of this discussion like a pack of wolves on here.
Duh, obviously they capture the closest pigeon, tie a note to its leg and throw it into the air and hope for the best. That’s definitely what I’d do if I’d had to flee to another country, finally got my application processed and wanted to bring a small child that I’d left behind with family/friends safely across.
Good grief! Are compassion, kindness & empathy dirty words to be avoided at all costs? Welcome to the world of Donald Trump, Boris Johnson and like minded individuals.
I was reading a thread on Instagram earlier where somebody stated that the possibility of shipping asylum seekers off to Ascension Island would be blocked by "do gooders". I love the way the totally lacking in compassion actually use the term "do gooder" as an insult. Do they not hear what they are saying?
Build a few more and get some homeless off the streets at the same time, I'm sure most would jump at the chance. Shelter, warmth, food and drink.
All these people complaining about tax payers funding the refugees whilst they have their applications processed should perhaps pressure their MPs to look at adopting the German policy that allows refugees to work after 3 months of submitting their application. Surely this would appease all those objecting as they would be paying tax and NI. It’s not as if there is a worker shortage in the UK is it
Or alternatively we could spend some money on mental health care, the protection of the vulnerable and tackle the root cause of people being on the streets.
