100% we need a big bruiser who can hold the ball up, win it chase it down and do the dirty side. Someone like Oldham’s new striker
Not many people would have wanted Cole to get a new contract this time last year, just show's how feeling wanted and a settled run in the team can change a player's career, shame the same can't happen with Iseka.
Yes, IF. The post I was replying to said IF we beat Tranmere and IF we beat Bristol. Therefore I replied with IF.
Interesting- I was going to say that was noticeable- Cadden often plays them like that - hard to defend against plus Phillips running in on them will work well.
Absolutely. I think Watters could be that physical presence with a but of guidance. Tedic as many have suggested however, certainly isn't.
Not my favourite player but scored 17 last season, 19 season before. There’s another lad whose name escapes me with long hair, who ended up at Hull and then moved on. also Gary Madine. Horrible players but effective at this level.
"Ultimately, James indicated he would like the opportunity to go to Oldham at this stage in his career. It makes it difficult when someone highlights that desire to move down 2 levels, and with the age he's at and financially, he thought it was important to his career. Tough decision because he's been brilliant in my time here, but he was pretty keen to make that move, so it's up to us to work with the players we've got". Not the words of our egotistical CEO, but that of our new head coach. As I say, number one priority for me is to have people at the club that want to be here. He didn't, time to move on.
One striker needed, to replace Norwood. We’re not going to splash the cash so a loan from a premier league or top end championship club would be preferred.
He probably did want to be here. But the club likely didn't want to go beyond another year. Understandable from both ends. But I'd have preferred he still be here myself too. He would have been excellent for us this year again. I guess he had to way up being 34 at start of next season and "then what" scenario
Watters didn't do much last season and on Saturday didn't get involved, early days I know but I can see the main strikers been Cole and dallas.
I thought that about Watters but he needs to up his work rate for sure. Seemed a passenger for most of Saturday’s game. Maybe he needs more match fitness. For that reason I’d start him tonight.
Allegedly he spoke up about the transfer policy selling the likes Mads then buying from non-league, yea only rumour but I sit next to someone who was talking to him after the Crewe game and what she said was exactly what the rumours were. If he was forced out because his views weren’t welcome by the CEO then it’s him that should go! I would think the majority of Reds echo what Nors believed, he should have been allowed to speak out without being forced out. The fact he’s got a multi-year deal seems to have worked in his favour but the salary is anyones guess.
