Fantastic News! Well deserved! There's a star man, playing on the right, his name is Jacob Brown and he's..... etc etc
So 20% of the difference between the undisclosed Stoke sold him for and the undisclosed we sold him for? Good deal.
Great news for the lad. The progress Luton have made in recent years is breath-taking. A real success story. Wish them (and all our ex players) all the best for the coming season.
Be surprised if woodrow gets many minutes. Although I fancy Luton to finish above sheffield United who have just sold berge to burnley
Luton manager seems confident I’d suggest they may run Derby’s lowest points total close, much as I like Mads & Morris the premier is totally different,Barkley is a has been who has lost his way and whilst Brown has undoubtedly improved at Stoke he was average with us and I doubt he’ll cut it in the top league.
It shows you that with a plan and a strategy you can get results. It's pretty obvious we're going after a similar style to Luton, or vice versa, but their gaffer choices & continuity over the last five years have been better. Shows the criticality - wonder how big an impact Harford has had as Director of Football.
Good luck, Jacob. Always been a fan of his and it's great to see him get an opportunity at the highest level.
I think we do the plan really well. But we do it better in L1 than we have ever managed in the Champ. In general our Spreadsheet has identified some decent players from National League and L2 that seem to slot into our L1 campaign. But in the Champ, we hope for the same haul whilst fishing from the same pond. I would say Luton and Brentford are miles ahead on that score following a similar methodology. They overtook us. We still talk of the dangled carrot of the £7m Championship gig. Both those clubs can laugh at that figure now. Next time! Hopefully next year, we do it better. Spectemur Agendo
I’d agree but I honestly think their ground alone is worth a good 20 points to them, just like The Dell used to be for Southampton. Culture shock will get them some wins at home I reckon. Not saying I see them finishing top half, they’ll do amazingly even to stay up - but I wouldn’t be completely shocked if they did.
