Correct me if I'm wrong. Mads Andersen to Luton £3 millin Brad Collins to Coventry £500k approx John Stones CL winner £250k? Jacob Brown 20% profit of his move from Stoke to Luton £600k approx. If we can also get Iseka off the payroll then financially we are certainly in a lot healthier position then some may have feared.
Sell on clauses were 15% but still 450k. Money we would have got for Norwood, Micky Long Haul and Patterson.
That looks much healthier. Surely time to invest in those two new wooden planks and 6 nails in order to complete the renovation of the West Stand?
Depends on your other priorities. Would you want to if it meant you couldn’t afford to eat for several days after? I’m sure some people on universal credit manage to save enough money to buy season tickets, but I reckon you’d have to be very good at budgeting.
Ignore the incomings , most of it will be eaten up by running costs Our transfer policy this close season should give you a good indication of how healthy our finances are
It’s hard to tell, those profits won’t be upfront payments, they’ll be paid in instalments over years. We are certainly better off than before, but I’m sure the board will still need to put money in. For example: Profits 7m (when inc. Duff/Norwood) All paid over 3 years (as an example, could be less) = 2.3m per year Board paid in 3m last year to cover wages -3m wage deficit +2.3m sale profits = -700k losses this year We’ve also spent money on Watters and the French lad, we paid the other Belgium striker off. Again these will all be instalments over time, but they’ll add to the deficit. Our wage bill should be lower than last season as well so that should help. We won’t know until the accounts come out, but it’s not as simple as Mads + Duff + … = we are minted
This comes up a lot, but as I understand it a lot of football transfer fees are factored, so it's quite common to pay a fee to a third party in order to get your money up front, and the responsibility for chasing etc lies with them.
