Totally agree, he’s not gonna have an awful season with us and will only add to his value this year. If I was board I’d keep him, try to get up knowing he’s gonna attract big bids next season if we don’t go up and need to sell again.
We shouldn't have to do this, but how about we do our best to tempt him to stay, till the next 'window' in January at least. If he stays clear of injuries in that time, then surely his reputation and selling fee will have gone up further!.
6 million. Abart time club stopped being taken for mugs all the time. If someone wants one of our players they should literally have to pay a wadge.
If we were operating at the same level as Chelenham and Cambridge with the same prospects of promotion there would be absolute hell on on here from all the usual suspects.
The long term security of the contract he has only just signed and being given captaincy should be enough to make him want to stay.
I wouldn’t want to paying £2.5m for him that’s for sure. Having said that he is worth way more to us than the money i’d say. Genuinely could be the difference between going up or not because the defence looks piss poor without him. Promotion is worth £6m apparently to the club. I’d be telling Cov to get in that ballpark before we start talking.
Daragh MacAnthony says Peterborough sell for £20million - but it’s usually actually £5million and then add ons that might get to £20million if the player plays fifty times for England, flies to Mars, and finger blasts Susan Boyle on Britains Got Talent
The worry is if kitch goes that's 3 main defender from last season all gone. Bobby Thomas, mads and kitch. The defence would be a massive worry for me.
Yeah which is what I meant by we shouldn't have to try and tempt him even more. But money talks I'm afraid and I don't think we've heard the last of this, in this current 'window'.
well thats my view JT. Ithink the club will hold for a deal of £3 mil or so and then sell. We have Sheoherd abd the French lad so have cover. We can akways look to bring inanew replacementeven if it us on loan
He needs to stay end of. We are challenging for promotion and we can't do that with an entirely new defence.
He'll have a release clause they've just not met it yet if he wants to go just needs his agent to tell Robins what the release clause is and he'll be gone. Gone before the window closes to be replaced by yet another prospect that we'll see for a season two if we are lucky then they'll follow the same route out of the door.
