think you’ve misspelled the excellent for us. You don’t get transferred for 2 million quid if you’re average. You don’t win a decent teams player of the year if you’re average. You don’t get a transfer to PL if you’re average.
You can add Coventry and Leicester to the list of teams that stayed in the top flight probably for longer than they should have due to their old grounds being great for home advantage. All three clubs slipped out of the top flight not long after getting a new ground and losing that advantage.
And me. Heard Hecky on the radio yesterday and he’s already being pragmatic about their chances before a ball has been kicked.
I thought he would have been excellent on the right of the front three for Val. Certainly more effective than Frieser. He did spurn a lot of chances in front of goal, but he was a proper grafter.
Hope Hecky doesn't go the same way as Scott Parker, who was a little too frank in public about the lack of strength of Bour-ne-moouuff's squad this time last year.
He was very good in the air as well if I remember correctly! A tall lad anyway but knew how to get up and win a ball. Would have been excellent with the direct balls we used to play under Val.
Good luck to him - one of my favourite players in recent years. Can see Sheff Utd finishing bottom. Best two players have left. They've got about 8 injuries this weekend and they've 4 a back 5 that took them down last time still in the starting line up but 2 years older and slower.
True. But people who objectively know a lot more about football than you, such as the recruitment teams and management at Barnsley, Stoke City and Luton Town, don't share your opinion.
W We weren't actually that good at home last season, got more points away. Having said that we have not lost a home league game in an evening since 2019.
Average with us? We would have got promoted without him or stayed up the season after, stokes player of the season and top scorer last season still only 25. Good signing imo. And I think Luton will finish above sheffield United.
To be fair when we were in the championship we went down the foreign route quite a bit and never gave them long enough to prove their worth.
Buzzing for him. I’ll be cheering for Luton this season. I’m backing them to stay up. It won’t be pretty but I think they’ll grind enough results out especially at home to stay up. Morris, Brown & Adebayo are a proper handful to play against. Their might be a few sides in the class of Man City who’ll be just too good for them but the rest will know they’ve been in a game when they come up against physical, athletic forwards like them. Sheff Utd bottom. And then I think Luton will stay up ahead of at least two of Wolves, Brentford, Forest, Bournemouth, Everton & Burnley.
You weren’t playing the kind of sides that will baulk at the sight of Kenilworth Road most weeks last season though bud. I think it’s about your only hope to maximise the benefit that might bring. Go well anyway. Hope you best the odds. Really do.
