    An adequate replacement, to my mind, means someone who is already as good as Kitching, not merely someone who might eventually turn out to be as good. The chances of our succeeding in finding such a replacement are minimal.

    At a recent Fan day he told them he had just opened talks with Gyorokes and Hames about extending. Bet he wished he’d kept that quiet now.

    Especially when we refuse to spend any money. Which is why we need to stand firm.

    That's where our board get it wrong with transfers they ask for what they think the players worth when they should play the game like other clubs do and quote the interested club a ridiculous amount that would then flush out the really interested clubs from the ones just trying to get our players on the cheap. It's about time our club got the benefit of players that weve been nurturing instead of other clubs like Luton and Coventry etc.

    Just for reference, Anderson being sold for £3m made him the 6th most expensive defender ever sold from a division 1 club and the 4th most expensive centre back.

    Unfortunate truth is the value of the player is tied to the division they're in and not just on their ability.

    £5 million would be fair.

    If I was Kitching, I’d be thinking- Coventry? Pfft..
    I’d be holding out for a BIG club.? Like Sheffield Wednesday… :)

    No chance bud. If there was someone as good as Kitching but cheaper, Coventry would just buy that guy. Weve helped kitching get this good. Same as Andersen, helik, Mawson, Roberts and every other centre half we've ever sold on for profit

    Just keep your eyes on transfer news as deadline transfer day comes along. I hope I am wrong but we shall see.

    I unfortunately expect both Kitching and Styles to leave before the window closes I’ve zero confidence that the board will put progress on the pitch before money in the bank .

    We sell 9000 and then proceed to sell all our best players. Soon they'll sell the ground too. I forgot... they already have.

    A bag o' nuts on top of ten bob and a blackie's egg will probably see us chuck in Jordan Williams as well.

    Precisely. Argue the toss and be prepared to come down to £14 million;

    How do you think we've survived for the 100 and odd years we've been in existance.
    Its a fine balancing act between progression and sustainability.
