"passed the vibe check" is particularly a bad one, as its usually attached to something sexist, misogynistic or just down right creepy.

 

Those memes that start with, "NO ONE: ...", then proceed to show something very unfunny.

 

Something, something "be like".

 

Those click bait ones that say something like, we've discovered this cleaning hack which is changing people's lives. You click on it, there's a 45 minute article by someone, giving their life story, and the it finishes off by saying they clean their bathroom tiles with 'the pink stuff' or some other really common cleaning product.

 

The worst one of the lot. I actually get a bit mad when I hear or see it

 

Saw a post about this on Facebook or Twitter or somewhere which I’ve dug out something bf similar.

‘Actually the “you're welcome/no problem" issue is simply a linguistics misunderstanding. Older ppl tend to say “you're welcome," younger ppl tend to say “no problem." This is because for older people the act of helping or assisting someone is seen as a task that is not expected of them, but is them doing extra, so it's them saying, “I accept your thanks because I know I deserve it."“No problem," however, is used because younger people feel not only that helping or assisting someone is a given and expected but also that it should be stressed that you're need for help was no burden to them (even if it was).

Basically, older people think help is a gift you give, younger people think help is an expectation required of them.’

Also those who when interviewed always begin their replies with "So ...."
And those who say "there are two things, A, blah blah blah," but never go on to say what B is. Or similarly say "One, blah blah blah" but never get to Two.

 

Closely followed by "little people" or "little person" when referring to their Children or Child.

 

These are mainly “gamechangers” now.

Usually involving a video of someone peeling a banana differently (or some other mildly altered routine) which explicitly isn't a game changer.

No it doesn’t! It closes at 11pm on Friday 1st September and everyone knows that. If it closed at 4.20am on Monday 28th August without warning I would agree with the phrase.

 

I never claimed to be completely tolerant! I've participated in one of the threads myself. It's just strange to have so many threads within a week dedicated to moaning about language.
