But surely very few clubs are going to be interested in our players if they're not very good at winning football matches?
Even someone as optimistic as yourself must be concerned at the direction our recruitment has taken? If we end up losing Mads, Collins, L.Thomas, Styles, Norwood and Kitching plus the loans we had, would you say recruitment to date has been acceptable for a club targeting promotion?
I'm a realist not an optimist. The poster indicated that the board had changed tack since they took over winning was no longer a priority but thats not true is it? We won more games last season and have continued this with 4 points from 2 games.Don't forget we have half a team out at the moment. I would say at this moment in time we're doing well with the manager and recruitment team activly looking at strengthening the squad even further.
Obviously, but it’s about finding the right balance, I’m all for signing young gambles, but when we lose key players surely it makes sense to seek replacements who can slot straight in, rather than pinning hopes on youngsters making the step up straight away.
I'm assuming that's what we'll do if Kitchen and Styles leave, as the fees will be big. I'm pretty sure that the French lad has been signed to slot straight in, as has O'Keefe Last season Phillips was signed for the first team, and most definitely looked the part after a few weeks bedding in. I'm pretty sure that a replacement for Kitchen will have already been identified.
What about a Man City loan? I thought we were virtually guaranteed one of those a season with Khaled’s contacts.
I would put the French lad in the bracket of Young gamble. He’s no experience at this level has he. Although I do hope he makes the step up pretty sharpish. We still need to replace Norwood, & it looks like we’ll need to replace Kitching as well.
