How the hell are we at risk of a stand closure? The entire Stretford End at Old Trafford stood for the whole game last night and it's the same at every other Premiership ground and most in the EFL too. Just don't get where this comes from with us. I'd say that percentage wise of crowd number the people standing at our games is considerably less than at most other clubs.
Yep, we've literally got one 'problem' corner ......... and is it really such a problem?? I think not. If it was railed off, we wouldn't even be having the conversation.
Ive never as much ****** in my life!! Nearly every away game I go to there’s standing for 90 minutes and do t get me started on the premier league……….they ort to tell the FA to shove their advice up there arse!! What makes me laugh laugh Is the stewards who walk up and down the isles in the east stand every 2 minutes when they can clearly see from the bottom there’s no one stood up but then half the ponty stood up with the stewards stood in the bottom corner like statues
Just like some people have pointed out that players need to understand the rules and a few cards/sending off will soon deliver the message, the same applies here. All down one side of the Ponty were stood up on Saturday and when asked to sit down started singing ‘stand up for the Barnsley’. Just sit down and then we can all move on with our lives without threat of a stand closure. Whether you agree with it or not, it’s the rule so just do it or don’t go.
I think we’ve peed the powers that be off with our lax response to things in the past so we don’t have any goodwill left now.
How do you know that Man Utd, and other clubs in the EFL, haven't been issued with a similar warning? A quick Google search shows that Burnley, Leeds and Wolves have put out similar statements, and Tottenham and Burnley have actually banned people for persistent standing. Our club has chosen to deal with it in this particular way.
Reeeally starting to consider stopping going to the matches after 20 years now. After a long working week I don't care for their treating us, their (extremely well) paying customers, like naughty schoolchildren. I'll tell you what, we'll start sitting more when the club starts getting the basic s**t right eg shirts in stock, ticket prices down to an affordable level and stop bulls**tting us when it comes to selling players. Then we may sit down. Hate football sometimes. Getting so sterile and plastic.
When you buy a ticket you are agreeing to the t&c's by default. Ticket states " Persistent standing of supporters in seated areas in sporting events will lead to eviction". SIT DARN.
Blokes have always stood in front of the upper tier wall. About a dozen, usually. You probably can’t see them from where you are. Season ticket holders mostly, they just like standing there. Not blocking anyone’s view or anything, but I suppose roolz iz roolz..
I NEED to sit, when I’m persisted. Otherwise I fall down. Club could try jet washing the seats, once in a while..?
I suppose the club could just tell the Football League and Safety Officers to go forth and multiply , that’ll show them . Yes we might get fined ,points deducted and enforced closure of the stand but we’ll have got out of the inconvenience to fans to read ( or not ) an email from the club asking people to sit because it’s against the law
