    I was fifteen when I went to my first games on my own at 15. 2000/1 season. Sheff Wed and Sheff Utd at home. I think it was a 1-0 win Bruce Dyer v Sheff Wed and then a 0-0 draw with Sheff Utd.

    Then I went more regularly the following season. Rotherham 1-1. Sheff Utd 0-0. Birmingham City 1-3. Wimbledon 1-1. Walsall 4-1. Gillingham 4-1. Bradford City 3-3.

    I know it’s different today than it was in the early 90s due to what we class as “feeling safe” but my mum used to drop me off as a 10 year old then pick me up.

    Now as a father of a 9yo & 7yo I wouldn’t dream of letting them go to a game on their own at the age I did.
