Stated with supreme confidence. Yet, oddly, some people thought differently!

He wasn’t in my opinion. He contributed every time he played. Even if he didn’t score he occupied defenders so other players could do their thing. Underrated. A real handful. Would walk into our team now.

I'm talking about his goals scored, regardless of whether he was a hard worker or not.
And various coaches/managers didn't rate him enough either, with the lack of game time they gave him.

We had far better forwards than him at the time so he didn’t play. If he was with us now he’d play more because we have a weaker forward line. It’s really that simple.

When you look at the forwards who were ahead of him you see Moore, Woodrow, Brown, Chaplin, Morris & Dike. It’s not like he was hard done to.

Same. Liked him a lot and thought he was underused, but never expected him to be a prolific goal scorer.

Having said that, one of our coaches/managers once said that his finishing in training was immaculate. Although I've never heard anyone claim he has a good first touch.

Right now I’d have him alongside Cole as a starter before any of the other 3.

But it seems that your not allowed to think that, on these pro-Victor threads.
Its a sorry state of affairs that yes, he probably would walk straight into our frontline, as its so poor at the moment.

George Maris scored last night too as did Paul Digby. Get them signed up.

We had much better forwards at the time so he was never gonna play. I think it’s unfortunate that we couldn’t persuade him to sign on for another season in L1 when all those good forwards had been sold.

I think that's a fair assessment but I'm not suprised he left was a real scapegoat. One thing I will say is he always gave 100% which is more than some.

Same with Ivan toney the stick he got was unreal, did people expect a 18/19 year old to come in and set league one alight. Even though he scored some important goals for us got alot of hammer.

Look at the names you've reeled off there to what we have now.

    Scary.

Stand corrected. Just looked on wiki and he scored two for us. One in the league at Colchester and one in the Paint Pot at Wigan.

I thought he scored at Colchester, just before Christmas 2015?

I agree. Critiquing a players performance while playing for us is fair enough, but some of the comments against these young players is insane. People think they know better than actual footballing people and can decide a player is "never a footballer" "competition winner" etc.
