Ah so more poor implementation again then. It’s all the fans fault for whinging about wanting to buy something the club want to sell. Yet not one bit of communication from the club re the delays etc.
They will lose thousands like last season because of it. Might as well wait now until the end of season sale as our so called warm weather season doesn't have much of it left.
Club reps. Just didn't know what to say lol. Stunned silence. Few murmured wtf's from the audience Including yours truly.
You'd do well to get a blueline. Anytime I ring them, day or night, I get the same answer "can't get anything to you love until twenty past one".
I often ask myself if this forum is representative of the 10 - 12 k fans that go to oakwell every other week. I ask myself that question because of all the negativity which is spouted on here. My conclusion is that the negativissomis on here are a tiny tiny minority of the people in this town who actually want to trust in what the club is trying to do to move forward. Your voice is a whimper. There are 10k people in this town who do not agree with you.
Of the 24 currently in League 1, 13 have some on-site parking provision, another 5 have adjacent or short walk car parks which they either have reserved provision for fans within or which are designated football car parks and a further 1 has nothing on site but directs supporters to nearby car parks that can be pre-booked. Only 5 have no particular nearby car park provision but of those Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers are both pretty easy to find street parking close by. (I'm speaking of general car park provision because eg Bristol Rovers do have some disabled parking, albeit limited).
And no mention of how this would affect all the other people who wouldn't be able to make the new time, due to still being at work.
It’s a small and quite open Board we have. We are lucky. Nothing is perfect, but they seem to work hard and want the best. There’s a lot worse out there. It’s quite clear - being in the Championship we are more financially sustainable. L1 we will always do well on the pitch, but it hampers the club’s finances.
The main thing I got from it between the lines is that the club are trying to re-stabilise after relegation and adjust to the financial issues that are related to being in league one but are trying to keep the core of the team together as best they can whilst bedding in new players who they believe will benefit the club and help it kick on again. I also noted the comment about the further injection of cash and the fact the the board said they were committed and had no intention of leaving. I'm not sure about the new recruits yet to be honest. I personally think we are weaker at the moment. I'm also still no wiser about the ' big news'. I am, in the short term pleased with the cash injection, but will they do that every year? I'm also a little disappointed with Khaled's politician's answers and with his seeming lack of empathetic understanding of why fans get worried and moan. Those are my takes, rightly or wrongly.
Pretty much agree. I just think sometimes Khaled wears his heart on his sleeve too much at times. Clearly he cares, but sometime he comes across as slightly flippant, but he doesn’t mean to be. Once you understand that, you can see past it. The CEO role is a thankless task. Can spend hours trying to do the right the thing, only to be doubted at every step. In a normal job, you’d probably quit…. I don’t see this kind of meeting happening anywhere else in Yorkshire, or the UK. So we should be thankful.
Kane will be getting punished, they considered putting away fans in the Ponty, Tedic is coming back(Khaled said he’s glad the bloke asking liked him), disabled/poor mobility fans can park in town and walk, we’ll fix loose handrail in disabled toilet in the Ponty ( should a maintenance job like this need asking at consecutive forums?), they are considering a 4th shirt oh and I’m going to be late when we play Charlton so they are going to delay kick off and have notified the EFL, ITV etc etc I mean out of all the stupid questions would you embarrass yourself? Conversely to the away fans being first the players hear, whilst this may be true they are soon behind them and they are running to the Ponty.
You obviously have no idea how supply chains work based on your posts on this thread and others about the kit issue. I’d hazard a guess that nearly every kit in British football is made in Asia. All global supply chains are struggling at the moment in nearly every sector. When you add in import issues due to brexit, Covid recovery for all the businesses in the supply chain etc, then you can understand why there’s delays. You have also got to consider with supply chain pressures priorities have to be met with demand. BFC won’t be high up the priority list due to the numbers of shirts that would potentially be sold. Fanatics will be doing everything the can to stock our items, it makes no sense for them not to be pushing for a delivery as that’s how they get paid.
