Probably Williams, going by the ‘Williams will be here at the end of the window’ comment from Khaled.
I would have thought we would have got over a million for Williams. It was just a guess at which 2 players they have rejected high 6 figure bids for.
People using words like travesty if we don't hold a one minutes silence today for Michael Parkinson To be fair it was about the rail to assist you to sit and stand but 100% agree this was not the forum to bring this up in, embarrassing for a first question. Who's wife is a certain player sleeping with, totally disrespectful. What's happening with him would be a far better question? A travesty is the support is provided for mental health in the community. Not if we hold a one minutes silence or not. Some of the mind numbing questions left me speechless. It was very much a PR stunt with little real additional substance to what we already knew.
I think the club are trying to do the right thing, improving communication is one of them. Two points I have are, if the Club photographer role is a full time role who have they appointed? It’s been mentioned they have put cash in, the latest filings on Companies House show four lots of rights being issued totalling £6.6m. The last being in May 2023, is the suggestion that there has been a further injection of equity post then?
I’m just speculating from what I’ve read on here and Twitter. They mentioned two bids, one of which we know to be Kitching. A comment later then said Kitching and Williams will be here at the end of the window. 2 + 2 = Williams signing a new contract next week.
3.5million was mentioned as the latest injection. Will be interesting to see if Conway and Lee subscribe to this one
Tbf on talksport, there was a mention of the EFL looking into moving games back from 7-45 to 7-30 when the schools are back because the chance of a late finish.
He said they had just signed off putting another £3.5 million in (mentioned the figure twice in different parts). I got impression it was very recently decided so perhaps not actually happened or just too soon to see yet.
To be fair they have had £130 of my money since the end of June despite no actual date for the shirts to arrive. They have missed one already that was meant to arrive on the 7th Aug and I fully expect no one will receive the revised date for the home shirt due to be delivered on the 21st Aug (which originally was stated would be released on the 5th Aug)
some of the questions were embarrassing, they could have been put in an email to the club rather than a public forum, respect to the guy who had a go at khaled, it was needed through the frustration our fans feel at the minute, collins looked very uncomfortable but I think we didn't find out a lot obviously some stuff from the financial side cant be discussed because of confidentiality but ffs it was deffo a happy clapper type night the keyboard warriors were very quiet (I watched it on stream while i was at work). we will have a better idea after the transfer window closes when we can settle down til january and it all starts again i suppose
Of all the things discussed last night the injection of another £3.5m is massive in the context of the club and the intent of the board. Putting cash in means there is far less pressure on sales and the wage bill. In my view this shows a desire for success on the field beyond surviving year to year. I know I’m not always the most upbeat towards the actions of the board but this is brilliant news.
My take was two fold mainly That people should have to take an IQ test before getting a ticket. And If the team starts winning most Saturdays then 95% of those questions asked.. no one would give a shiny 5'hite about.. Oh and it looks like the twitter spats have knocked some of the bounce out of JAQ.. you cant fight mad people dear..
Thats 10 million they've stumped up now, all equity no debt. And if Chien and Conway don't subscribe Neerav will strengthen his grip on the club. He must be very close to overall control.
Not saying it’s linked as they are different manufacturers but at our running club we ordered our kit in May and was told it would be August and still haven’t had it(or an update) The manufacturer is whom supplies England Athletics so not tiny. Only mentioning as perhaps the issue is where the shirts are being printed?
Not trying to put a downer on it but the total is more like £6.35m. Remember that of the £6.6m put in £3m was to settle the deferred payment for purchase of the club. That now sits as a soft debt to the Crynes. There was also the infamous £750k. So net it is £10.1m - £3m - £0.75m = £6.35m Being totally honest that’s £6.35m more than I ever thought they’d put in and likely has only happened as a result of the new board.
The club don't need a full time photographer. They do, however, need a photographer that is always available. Some weeks, they might not need a photographer at all. There will be many weeks when they need a photographer on a Friday to do press shots for the pre-match interviews and a Saturday to cover the match. And there will be some weeks when they need a photographer in right now, because the signing they've been chasing, the deal for whom they thought had fallen through, is currently signing a 3 year deal and will be in the squad for the match tonight. And they need a photographer at half 12 tomorrow 'cos they're releasing some new merch, and at half seven in Alnwick that evening to cover the Women's away game, and at 10 the day after because they're unveiling the striker they've signed from Austria. But they'll not need a photographer then for a couple of weeks because it's the international break, unless summat crops up, and then they will. And that's not a full time job. And it's not a job that can sustain someone who has to pay the bills, but it is work that an agency can accommodate, who can send a photographer down to Oakwell in the morning and then to do some work for an Estate Agent in the afternoon, and on to cover a band at the O2 in Leeds in the evening.
