I think the gates were opened earlier today. Certainly before the away fans coaches had left, as we were out on Pontefract Rd when they passed us and we were about 15 minutes after the gates were opened to get out.

The club can't just shrug off needing to have safety plans in place because 'it's Barnsley' .

My daughter applied for a job at Oakwell this summer to help pay her way through college. If it had been her on that gate being threatened with violence for doing her job I'd be insisting she reported the matter to the police.

 

I’m hoping Jedi has apologised in some form. He’s a war veteran & a straight talker, military style. It is slightly out of character, I think. Though why he chose to shame himself on a public forum, I just don’t get?
I’m sure Kev will have spoken to him & I hope this resolves itself, with a gracious apology.

I dont think for one minute think they believe an attack will take place. (even though anywhere could be a target) They will act on recommendations put forward by the SAG. If they go against advice. They would be taking the risk re public safety. I may not agree with it but I'm not responsible for it. You'll be surprised what you will do to consider others safety when it falls on you to make the decision. I know as I was in a sag at work. We have 80yr old ladies travel with us getting their bags searched at every away game. Pathetic, but a sign of the times.
