    No

Edit - that’s a no to the first bit. If they think she was up to no good they would have told someone. No nurse would be too frightened to report something if they thought kids were being harmed. Them being not listened to if they did raise the alarm is another matter. First and foremost, it is difficult to believe that a neonatal nurse would deliberately harm babies, so there’s going to be a lot of doubt initially. Especially as it seems that Letby was well liked. But when it is raised as far as the people sat in offices, other things are going to come into play, I.e. reputational damage. So rather than not believing this could happen, they would be more inclined to look for an alternative story

It wouldn’t though, she probably couldn’t give two craps. Would it help the family feel better if she just shrugged her shoulders or laughed as it was read out?

Would this apply to everyone, regardless of crime? People may not feel too much upset at seeing a baby murderer dragged in and beaten but I hate violence and it would make me feel a million times worse if I had to watch someone be beaten and dragged into court for, I don’t know, defrauding me or nicking my car or something. I’d probably start shouting at them to stop.

I think people are hoping to get some joy out of watching her burst into tears in sorrow and shame when there’s no guarantee that’s what would happen and would endanger the ones tasked with dragging her (or someone more physical) to court.

I’m aware of some of her behaviour - my cousin is one of her care team at Rampton.

If anyone hurt my child I would won't them set free so I could have my time with them. Then I would gladly go to trial and take the consequences.

Wouldn't be surprised if Letby ends up there, otherwise will be New Hall where I think she's already at.

don’t think anybody mentioned beating, JD, and all the comments relate to this particular horrible multiple murder of babies case as far as I can see, certainly that’s the only one I was referring to.
I just can’t see how anybody can commit such horrible crimes and then get to say they aren’t willing to be there for the sentencing , to be it’s a bit like her sticking her fingers in her ears and avoiding responsibility in a way.

The nurse I was talking about further up used to cut herself and shove foreign bodies into the wounds. I remember one being a crucifix

It's unthinkable that someone would commit the crimes she has. Couldn't imagine even accusing someone of what she has done.

That’s a very good point. The poor families have already had to go through the grieving process twice. The sight of the cause of their grief standing emotionless, or maybe even smiling or smirking, would be something that I know I would never recover from. Hopefully they’ll be reassured knowing Letby is very unlikely to leave the prison system and can start the long, hard process of trying to move on with their lives

Isn't she due to be considered for parole quite soon? I'm assuming that things work a bit differently for prisoners in secure psychiatric units. Was wondering whether Letby will end up somewhere like that rather than a regular prison, bearing in mind the snippets of information we've had about her mental health. Having said that, nobody who's committed such crimes is very likely to be right in the head. I have no idea what the parameters are for deciding whether someone goes to a secure psychiatric unit or just to a high security prison.

Get her chained and muzzled so she's there but can't look away or make a scene shouting.

No expert on this but it may be easier to manage a prisoner at massive risk of personal attack, in a psychiatric unit than in a prison. That may be a consideration as to where she ends up.

A defendant may be dragged into the dock against their wishes but there is no way of knowing how that defendant will behave - what they may say or do - could cause even more distress to the parents etc.

No, they wouldn't put someone in a secure psychiatric unit for this reason. It would be purely based on psychiatric evaluation.
