I didn't care for JAQ's comments at the Q&A regarding the Womens' team and the walkout song. A small point I know. Timerider is our song, as it should be. She seemed to be all for the women "choosing their own". Equality cuts both ways. The Womens' team is just as much a "Barnsley team" as the mens' team is, right? So the women should walk out to Timerider. If not, then they're receiving preferential treatment. I said it was a small point, and it is. But I really don't like this idea that the women's team are allowed to "do what they like" and the mens team have to conform to traditions etc. I'm 100% behind the Ladies and the club for doing this, but there needs to be things that are sacred to us as a club, regardless of the gender of those wearing the shirts. I'm not looking for a row, perhaps I'm reading too much into it.
The Rolling Stones haven't released an albums worth of good material in my lifetime* - and a good chunk of their stuff before I was born was covers. I'm 52. *Ok. I'll give you "Exile on Main Street". maybe.
Reminds me when on holiday in Eastbourne a dog in the town centre was barking constantly and a bloke shouted at the top of his voice all dogs should be shot, a bit extreme but I could see where he was coming from.
