If we are going to spend a million, this is more like what we need. We were after him when he was at Gillingham and he had just got into their first team. Done well at MKD. As they got him for nothing after his contract at the Gills had lapsed, anything we pay would be clear profit. Young at 24, but with a lot of experience of full seasons at Leagues One and Two levels. This is the sort of player we should be spending our hard fought cash on. Get him in. They will need the money, so I hope that we persist. Plays mostly right side of a central two, or three, so fits our weakest area. Get him in!!

I'd agree with everything you said, except about Exeter needing the money. They've had a couple of windfalls this summer, most notably from Ethan Ampadu moving to Leeds from Chelsea for £7m.

 

If they were going to buy him they wouldn’t,t have bought the French bloke so you can discount that.

This doesn't make sense as a news story, does it? Planning to make a bid. So haven't made a bid. Which means the only way anyone would know is if the leak came from inside the club. It would be against the clubs interest for anyone to do that. Rumours are weird.

 

He sounds ok. But don't know how true but heard from 2 or 3 people this morning that Kane might be off apparently the board didn't like him speaking the truth about needing more players

Kane would be a big loss but not unreplaceable. We have a lot of good midfield options too.

I might be in the minority here, but I really don't think Herbie Kane would be that much of a loss. He's looking slow, his fitness looks way off it and every sequence of play that goes through him gets slowed down to walking pace.

He has his good spells, like last year, but he still put the brakes on our free-flowing attacks a lot of times, but he worked well with an energetic Connell and Phillips around him. Luca not being there has really exposed him in my opinion.

I actually said it last year should anyone wish to dig that up? Do I want him to go? No, I think he adds quality to a WINNING team. But when the chips are down and we aren't playing all that well, he becomes anonymous. We could get better for the money we could make on him in all honesty.

 

I agree, he's not as good as he thinks he is, I for one wouldn't be fussed if he went.

 

Seems wronge way round agree personal terms before the fee but we will after wait and see. On Kane for me it wasn't what he said more the way he said it in a couldn't care less way,I know the pro players these days are a fickle bunch but still it didn't sit right with me.
