I must be getting old because I wouldn't clean the car in what that lad is wearing. Up and coming name in street wear indeed.

I’m exactly the same and ordered on the 29/06 and not heard one thing from fanatics or the club via email or website update. Only seen the dates slip by tracking my order online.

This isn't a dig in anyway and I do generally agree with you. Fans aren't the life blood of clubs any more I would suggest the money that comes in to the club from ticket sales and merchandise is a small percentage of whats required to keep the club afloat. The serious money comes from the league, sponsorship, TV and player sales, I would like to know how far off I am with that.
I also think that the fans are more of a hinderence with policing and stewarding costs, club fines, additional staff and the negativity that comes from the stands and that is on social media.
    Just a thought.

From a financial perspective you're absolutely right - which is why we're thought of and treated like an afterthought a lot of the time.

But from every other point of view its wrong.

The trouble is, owners at 99% of clubs these days simply look at the financial side of things.

    And I didn't take it as a dig either - it's a fair point.

I am OK with that pic. He is obviously wearing one of the teams shirts. What I am not happy about is the comms. I ordered direct thro Fanatics and not the club in order to get an additional discount via my card. Fanatics have more or less kept me up to date re delivery but not given a reason for the delay. When I have accessed their on line agent I have had little joy. It is the most unhelpful shopping aid I have come across. I got frustrated and asked if BOT is short for can't be bothered. Still waiting for a response. For those that have ordered from Fanatics via the club website I think the club has a duty to keep them informed if Fanatics doesn't.

As timings have slipped, we should have had something like this imho:

I've got the tar if anyone has got the feathers.

It's ****. Monumentally ****. And if someone working for me had submitted a design like that, which is basically early 90s cut and paste clipart and excessive use of the new fangled gradient tool, then they would be wearing it internally. I also firmly believe that if we get a high profile game in the cup the juxtaposition of the sponsor's logo and the stars is going to get us in hot water. Everything about it is toss.

But, and it's a big but, you are getting old. I'm getting old. I think everything this guy has designed is next level hyper w4nk. And yet he is a name in fashion circles. To me it's all Emperor's new clothes, deliberately garish garbage appealing only to the ironic post-postmodern and old people who think that young people like colourful stuff with patterns. And then I think I must sound exactly like the old people who thought the Sex Pistols should be arrested. And they were. I'm not John Lydon, I'm Bill Grundy, and he was the ********* in that.

I don't get to say what is cool anymore. If I ever did.

    It's still toss though.

He's employed by us. By part of Barnsley FC I am talking about those who spend thousands in their lifetime supporting the club from birth to death. Those who have pumped cash in to the club buying a shirt that is constantly delayed should be wearing it first.

And all those positives you mention about the collaboration, which had the potential to generate masses of incremental sales has been turned into one huge negative because we can't actually deliver.
The majority of customers don't really care which part of the supply chain caused the delay, the buyers contract is with BFC.
If I buy 3 shirts from "barnsleyfcdirect, the official store for Barnsley fc"
then I'm gonna be pissed off at Barnsley fc if the shirts take 3 months to get here, dates keep moving, with no communication and they charge an extra £5 for the pleasure of the mystery.
My grandkids will probably have outgrown these shirts before they arrive at this rate.

Can't disagree with anything you say. Still don't think there's anything wrong with the photo and agree the whole collab has been tarnished from the fans point of view by poor comms from Fanatics and or BFC imho.

I ordered through the club site, as I thought I could trust the club moreso than a third party. Obviously I can't.

I took my 10 year old daughter to the match on Saturday. She had to wear her brother's shirt from last season. Both of them keep asking me where their kits are. The black one with the Toby Tyke badge that they have been looking forward to wearing for 7 weeks and counting now...

I'm almost "over it" to be honest. I'd have my money back and buy them both an England shirt instead if I could.

The club site is no longer the club site - taken over by fanatics. Shows that and states that quite clearly.

    Agree 100%.

Not ideal with the shirts at all - I’ve spent over £300 too.

But I can’t knock the collaboration and the publicity around it . It’s good for the club.
