Joking aside. That new academy vacancy that was advertised sounded awfully like Hassell's job. Maybe there's been some divine intervention?
I think there's every chance they'll break the record for lowest points. I can't believe how badly they've acquired. Someone must be pocketing multi millions. They've given the manager no chance.
I think it may be more calculated than this. perhaps accepting they may go down and saving the cash for the future? Not saying I agree with that as a strategy but that may be the case.
They finished 3rd in the champ winning at places like Brammall Lane. Luton are no mugs. I think its actually smart signing players aged 23-27 who are proven in the championship. The squad has more depth and quality and if relegation happens the club will be in a good position.
To be fair kids football is awful, pushy parents who think there kids are going to be the next John stones, parents on sidelines thinking there Jurgen klopp. If parents weren't so keen for there kids to make it big instead of just enjoying the game and playing with there mates on a Sunday morning the parents might not let there kids jump ship so fast.
I don’t think he’s involved in the day to day running of the club though, is he? I have met him a couple of times and he’s usually in the directors’ lounge on his 3rd glass of wine. Lovely man, and club legend, but I’m not sure he has the desire or the nous to be a director of football/head of recruitment type.
