They haven’t though have they? We’ve brought in Lopata & De Gevigney. Lopata’s obviously not a Woking standard player. Sheff Utd wanted to keep him but he left to play games. He wasn’t getting paid by Southend & took the chance to leave & play a few games for Woking at the end of the season where I’m presuming he got paid. Clearly De Gevigney needs a bit more time to get up to speed & Shepherd did well off the bench in the league game & was one of the better performers in the cup game. He’s also a left footer so slots into Kitching’s position more naturally.
Even if he isn’t injured we aren’t going to spend money on a replacement until he’s actually out of the door when we’ve already got loads of centre backs.
I have a good feeling that Lopata, MDG and Shepherd could become good players for us… But for today I think it could be a bloodbath. I hope Kitching is back in the team next week as the team looks poor without him. Also, what is up with Cundy? I haven’t seen any update
We havent prepared for the season very well if we thought we could fall back on long term absentees. I dont know why we cant just be prepared from the first game, throwing these points away in august each year
It really is asking a lot for these players to come in and perform at this level straight away.......this could be horrible today.
Why are people moaning at Kitching btw Aa bid was received and rejected. Why should we be berating Kitching for that? He has a couple of bad games and people suddenly think his head has been turned and he should be dropped. I thought he was a fan favourite!
But there’s a budget. We aren’t going to sign 2 more defenders to replace McCarthy & Cundy when they’re expected back shortly. Then you get to late September and you’ve got Kitching, Lopata, De Gevigney, Cundy, McCarthy, Shepherd & two more & your paying 8 lots of wages when only 3 at the most are going to play.
