The start has still been poor in my view, at best ‘patchy’ The performances against Oxford and Peterborough were inexcusable.
We beat a team with 10 men for majority of the game. The start has been poor but so has the pre season.
They were poor displays (Oxford in particular), but a bit of perspective is needed. We have a young, inexperienced coach, a young inexperienced team, we're probably still a few signings shy, it will take time for it all to come together. Whether you agree or not with the way the club is run, or the recruitment strategy, it is what it is. All that is required is a bit of patience. It's not going to come together over night. Some were saying sack the manager after 1 league defeat. How would that be productive now? We've a great opportunity to build now after such a positive result today. We've a winnable game again next weekend, and then the window will be shut, the manager knows what he's got to work with, and by the end of September, we can then start passing judgement in my opinion.
Is it going to be like this every week with the happy clappers gloating over a victory and the moaning minnies griping over a loss? How about providing an opinion on the game they've just seen?
Yeah, but if we listen to some on here on how poor we are then that’s quite some achievement is it not?
‘‘Twas ever thus’ just to add, because I don’t see the doom and gloom that some posters on here see, It doesn’t make me a happy clapper
Am I a happy clapper because I am happy the team I support won ? And should have won more comfortably to be honest
I thought we were fairly poor today but got a lot better in the last 20 minutes when we stepped up a little and Wigan started chasing the game. I'm optimistic about the season, not because of the performance but because of the poor standard of the league. If we can get a run together with a settled squad (FAO Khaled) then I think we can have a good season.
No. You're a happy chappy who will have a good night tonight, as will I. But then again you hopefully have better things to do than use the result to claim some kind of victory over your generally less positive fellow reds fan. The OP is intended to stir things up and there's really no need. We all want the same thing (copyright Belinda Carlisle - SD will provide the video).
No matter how indifferent our start has been we should still take a moment to laugh at the shambles in S6.
They'll have seen it online. Not as good as being there. Better than hearing it. If you're just going on the result only then it's best to keep quiet.
I'm really, really happy we got 3 points today...totally amazing. If I'm been analytical (not critical)...I think we lack a yard if pace and don't look fit. Wigan looked player for player better as did posh and Oxford did imho. This is early days yet and I appreciate our coach has to stamp his style on this squad and I feel there will be more comings and goings, with that, I'm optimistic we will be better, especially when Connell gets back.
