Can certainly see why OUR recruitment system would pick him up!

Tedic has scored 20 in his whole pro career over 110 games playing against some poor sides. Admittedly the bloke from Rotherhams record is worse but tedics was **** also.

 

His record isn't great that's for sure and I would have certainly preferred Sam Nombe or Cosgrove who we have been linked to this window but I don't think he's the worst signing we could make and I'm more interested in this than another loan for Tedic for example.



Based on the clips above he seems to be a mobile target man who regularly links up the play and brings others into the game. I know it's easy to make players look decent on clips but I don't think he's a woeful pick up.

Let's wait a see how he does once he signs as we have turned a few of these type of players good over the years.

It's definitely a punt. I'd have liked Nombe personally, but I was certain he'd go to a Championship side anyway.

I'm not talking about lumping it to a big man though. Just someone who can hold the ball up, has a good touch and can pick a pass. Defend from the front. If they score goals, that's handy too. Someone in the Norwood, Kieffer Moore, Marley Watkins mould, even Tedic to a degree (but not Tedic). Just someone different to the 7 strikers we currently have who all like to play off the last man.

 

Think it also proves if needed that we haven’t a pot to piss in and if we fail to get promotion this season then god knows what our budget will be next year.

Victor scored 5 goal in 18 starts for barnsley also not bad, better than 1 in 4 ratio.

Saying he scored 1 and assisted 3 in 20 games is a tad unfair, although technically true, he only played 663 minutes. So, 7 and a half games he got 4 goal involvements. Not bad. Fortunately for us, there's a lot more to football than just numbers. If he comes in and is the reason we score another 10 goals due to his hold up play but the numbers go to Cole, I'd be delighted.

 

Because people need to stop blaming the club for not getting players who we've been 'linked' with - people make up rumours and then when they don't materialise, people get angry at the club. It's mental.

I was looking at nombes whole career when i said it wasnt great. The comment about victor was tounge in cheek because he gets so much stick about his time here but if you only look at the starts his record here isn't actually bad. Truth is you can manipulate stats to and against arguments.

Morris didn't have great stats but turned out a good player for us

 

Can only think that at 23 years old our recruitment team think he’s about to prosper in these next 2/3 years and hopefully that’s the case with a few of our strikers.
