Yes, you can be sacked for almost anything (unless you can prove discrimination) in the first two years (1 in NI). The law is different in England, Scotland and NI. HR are not your friend - their job is to protect the organization and you are dispensable.

Another Tory action against working people. One year qualifying period when they got themselves elected in 2010. Oh, and it used to cost the employee nothing.

If you’re full time, have a baby and have 12 months off, go back 4 days for 2 years. Do you have a right to go back to full 5 days or is it the employer’s discretion?

All in the same job at same company.

I can only assume a request was made to go part time and the employer has no obligation to increase it back to 5. (I think the 12 months off is immaterial although in the rules.) Surely terms were agreed on return to work.
If the place of work is not unionised. Juddy G may be able to find out as I'm retired. But pretty sure he'd need a full rundown.

Usually at employers discretion. Is there enough work to stretch the role to 5 days?

Aye plenty of work. They’ve not said no but wanted to know where we stood. Nobody has been denied before so shouldn’t be an issue but nice to have the information. Thanks for the responses.
