Anyone going? I’m going for the novelty of it being the first ever game, playing on Oakwell which I guess won’t be a regular thing, can drink in the stands. Just got my ticket it is however supposed to be free and it’s charged me? It’s only a fiver I guess and not worth chasing up ( no I’m not minted). Quite looking forward to it.
To whoever might be listening....can we please have plenty of coverage on the club media through the season on the women's team? Highlights, interviews etc.
Not following pal they are playing on Oakwell rather than the academy pitches where I assume they will play normally?
There was a general complaint on here about playing “on Oakwell” rather than at Oakwell in the same thread where the use of “Go Well” and other twitterspeak was being bemoaned. Anyway, just ignore me!
I didn't dig particularly deep into that thread, but I'm fairly sure the club have always referred to academy/reserve games as being "on Oakwell" on the odd occasion they've been played on the main pitch. Even prior to the boom of twitter, and I don't think that's particularly used to "get down with the kids" so to speak. *prepares to be lynched*
My daughter is playing, so all the family will be there. She started playing for Barnsley Ladies at 9 years old. We've put the milage in taking her all over, so to see her play on Oakwell will be a dream for her and us.
I personally couldn’t care less (about the phrasing, not the lynching) I just assumed someone had done it ironically.
Yes. I am taking my daughter and we're looking forward to it. It's a historic game, like you say as well.
What's the chances that the ladies team can plug into i-follow at some point. An extra revenue stream for them and potentially wider audience?
