QAnon is all over twitter. There's lots of smoke without fire on there. Not saying his is or isn't going but if it was a done deal someone reputable would have confirmed it. For 5 million I'll drive him myself. I like the lad, but he can't really pass and he's an absolute liability for a bad tackle when he loses his head. If we sell him for that and keep Styles we've pulled a full on Peterborough
Not sure I really want us to keep Styles. Apart from being a back up LWB I don’t really see him finding a way into our regular midfield.
I don't agree that he can't pass. Some of his long passes across to the right wing last season were excellent.
You might be right l.. but anecdotally at least I see him as being very inconsistent with his passing and giving the ball away a fair bit. Would be interested in seeing his stats. No way on earth is he a £5 million player though. £3 million would be a good deal for us. Anything above that and you're in the realms of: buying team is panicking and has too much money.
Yeah his biggest issue is not really having a best position. I do see him as a far better footballer than Kitching though..it amazes me that everyone his so reluctant to pay his release. £2 million is an absolute bargain.
If we've had £4m for Andersen, £5m for Kitching, £2m for Styles, £0.5m for Duff.......£11.5m income, plus the big wages off the payroll...... that's gotta be the most successful window ever
Not sure we'll find another Coventry in the summer who want to spaff £5m on Kitching. Unless we run away 10 points clear as Champions with the best defensive record in the league.
No see. This is a change. We didn’t cave and accept the first offer and have got a good deal for a league one defender. it’s absolutely different.
Agreed, I am usually one to moan a bit with the sales as I often think we don't get good fees but this is a massive fee. They've done well here. The only disappointment is that it's so close to the deadline so we can't splash any of the money on extra players.
I mean I probably wouldn’t have sold him anyway. But I’m not privy to the budget or Kitchings attitude towards the move so can’t give a fair judgement on it really.
Have you got proof that we usually "cave and accept the first offer"? The only difference here is that the multiple offers got leaked to the media from Coventry's side.
