Honestly I am glad we are taking the 4-5 million or whatever it is, definitely need to get a couple of loans in ASAP though. Thought Kitching was a decent player but did my head in at times, wayward diagonal balls, out of position, silly tackles, bit of a wildcard. That being said he was great next to Mads and Thomas as he could bomb forward and get on the end of something.
Yep, absolutely needs reinvesting. We certainly now have enough brass to be sniffing around two or three standout players in League 2 in their positions.
Like everyone else on here, as everything is “Undisclosed” and rumors, I’ve no idea what has really come in and what we have spent. All guesswork.
They need to spend some money fast if they are going to do what they said we are going to do! That’s push for promotion.
Nareev will get slated by some for saying Kitching 'not for sale' and then selling him but I think he's done OK. It's those tactics that persuade Coventry to keep upping their offer knowing Barnsley aren't desperate to sell. It's a welcome change from the old Conway policy of saying everyone is available. And it's a refreshing change to hear other clubs fans moan about the fee rather than claiming a bargain. A fee over 4m is a good deal for the club even with Forest Green having a sell on percentage fee.
Wages, Stadium Rental, Tax, New Players, Loan fees etc. If directors have put say £3 million in would you think they’re not going to take any money out when available? In any other company you would, but for some reason supporters seem to think that money the football club has is their own, because they support the club! Doesn’t work like that.
Good thought mate but window shuts at 11 tneet lol.....got a feeling we all going be disappointed with what we don’t sign....hope am wrong btw
You made a definitive statement without facts. We clearly haven’t reinvested the fees in the team. We may very well have used the money to pay for the running of the club which is very different. Football leaks like a sieve. Fees are never really undisclosed. They show in the accounts eventually. Last couple of years we have probably received 13-15 million
Its good business but what annoys me is the suits constantly saying he is staying. They never had any intention of him staying
We also need to be reinvesting in the current squad. £1m works out at 6.5 grand a week over three years. Rather than bringing a player in we could offer Cadden, Kane and Cole a 2k wage increase to sign new contracts.
If Leya Iseka is on 8k a week, we are paying him £416,000 a year. That's what we're investing the money in, paying wages.
Don’t think John necessarily meant now. This time we really have to treat this as bonus money and get our targets either now or in January. Not let it get caught up in general financing of the club.
We had to take £5m for Kitching, it’s crazy money. There’d better be a decent striker signing though before the window shuts. I’m also not going to take all the ‘we’re skint’ talk from the board any longer either. We’ve taken some serious money in during this window and spent very little.
9000 season tickets at an average of £200 a piece to allow for £10 kids tickets etc = £1.8million quid. 30 players on 2k a week average (I bet it's more than this) = £3.12m We rely on selling players and investing that money into the club.
sponsorship. football league money. TV money. fans are not the only source of income. We bloat our squad by taking punts on far too many players rather than targeting quality.
Our signings will be permanent that’s what they said at the forum all the fukin lot have been loans. This cosgrove if he signs let’s hope it,s not another loan because we will be back to square one next summer.
