    We can compete with them but why would you assume we want the player?

    There’s a reason Peterborough want shot of him - and for about 800k - I wouldn’t have been desperate to take him.

    I mean I'm not sure they'd want rid of him given he has scored 57 goals in the last 2 L1 seasons.

    800k for the best goalscorer in this division currently is a bargain.

    No I agree - and even if posh are skint, there’s got to be a reason they have agreed a fee of less than a million. He’s 29, not 35.

    I’m suggesting there’s more to it. I’ll say this now, he won’t score 20 for Bristol Rovers this season.

    He might not but I'd wager he gets at least as many as our top scorer does.

    Don't forget they had Aaron Collins who wasn't fan off golden boot last season and he's still there. That's some strike force for them this season if they get it confirmed.
