We have a worse squad than last year.

    It is always like that.

These threads frustrate me no end. Footballers are so guarded as it is and exactly because of this kind of reaction. Watching iFollow videos is pointless because of it.

Fans follow footballers on Twitter because they want to hear from them but immediately show the same players why they shouldn't post a thing.

So we go back to those interviews... "Yeah, one hundred percent. The three points are what count but we go again in the next game. Yeah, one hundred percent. The fans really give us a lift. Yeah, one hundred percent. I'm happy to help out the team." Fascinating.

I agree with that. Still extremely weird that one minute after we announce Kitching has been sold, he's making a proud parent type post for someone who's only gone to Coventry. It would have been different if he had done it for Mads because at least he's reached the promised land of the top flight. I suspect we will be giving Herbie another chat...

I agree generally. It's not like you can see footballers down the Snooker Club any more on a Thursday evening - they're so detached from the fans now that social media is very important to keep that link.

However in this instance, a "good luck" rather than a "well done" would have probably been a better choice of words.

Has Kane shot himself in the foot la Romelu Lukaku with this one? His tweet came too late for him to get out of the exit door so he has to either eat a whole lot of humble pie or face the backlash 'til January and hope for a move then.

I don’t really see an issue with his tweet.

football players’ allegiances are to themselves and their teammates , not to the clubs they play for, save for fairly limited circumstances

I would hope we have become used to the way we work and learnt to accept the inevitable by now but I tend to agree with you. Whilever we stumble from Owner to Owner with the same mindst and relative lack of ambition that's how life is at Oakwell now, I'm afraid.

You’re the most bothered I’ve ever seen anyone be about anything. If you think he’s just trying to wind you up, why would you make multiple posts showing that he’s achieved it? Especially about something as innocuous as a well done post to a mate.

Cant see a issue with that at all. Saying well served for getting a promotion at work. We would all say it to someone we work with. Plus its not like Kitching has done anything wrong. Clubs made a good profit on him and £5million is well above his price. Probably double his value for me.

They’re seemingly best mates, holidays together, nights out together etc. Can’t see an issue at all. He’s hardly said ‘well done for leaving this dump’

On Instagram, Devante Cole, Jordan Williams, Luca Connell, Nicky Cadden and James Norwood have all made similar posts. They made similar posts when Andersen left. They sometimes post when players of other clubs get a move. James McAtee said the same about his brother re-signing for Sheff Utd yesterday.

It's not a new phenomenon, it's not unprofessional or disrespectful, it's merely a young lad wishing his mate the best in his new, more lucrative job.
