not particularly insightful or revelatory but at least he came across as a player happy to be with us, enthused about the game and keen to learn and develop. Made me smile and glad he's got his chance. Good lad.
100%. If we only wanted to cheer on and support technically perfect football performance we'd watch man city. But it's not about that. Character, passion, personality matter so much. There's a reason Mads was loved so much in his time here, and it has a lot to do with his attitude. Baz reminds me of that young Mads. Raw, frustrating at times, but full of enthusiasm and wanting to learn and get better. He's the type of player that will get kids excited when he goes down that right wing. Hope he continues. So pleased for him, let's hope it continues
I love watching the lad play. Are there parts of his game he can improve? Of course there is. But that applies to everyone I've seen play for Barnsley. Young Barry is a joy to watch and I look forward to seeing him develop with us.
A real joy to watch going forward, rapid & direct. If it's true we only paid 20k (or so I read?) for him, we've got a real prospect. He gets back a lot more than he did in his initial games, and even in such a short amount of game time I think you can already see his improvement & enthusiasm. If we can work on his defensive side a little more we'll be laughing, him & Cadden in wingback positions are real threats
Love him. Said at the start of the season that with the right coaching the lad can be a real asset. BAZBALL!!!
I think he's great going forward. It's a shame we don't play 4-4-2 because if he's covered he'd be an excellent attacking winger.
Arguably the most improved in the squad along with Russell this season. Was called useless by many on here and Twitter last season but this year has been getting regular minutes and has a goal to his name as well as like 3 or 4 assists? As many goal contributions as Cadden has. Can tell he's spent some time with Devaney on training ground working on his crossing.
.Nice observation. would be great if disco has been teaching the art of perfecting the perfect cross. cue .......disco's cross for kayode v Chelsea in tbe cup
Could be a great tactic as happened today to bring one of our many centre halves off the bench to replace Cotter and put Williams to wing back, when we have a lead to defend.
Was something I read somewhere I am sure. Pretty certain it was in an article somewhere (maybe chronicle) that Cotter had been doing some one to one work with Disco on crossing etc. Stead had also done some stuff with Cole and other strikers.
Nice to read some positivity on here! I actually have confidence in this Manager and his coaching team to get the best out of players such as him simply by valuing them as opposed to marginalising them.
He reminds me a lot of Trent Alexander Arnold. Great going forward, quick, can play a killer pass but very suspect defensively. However, I think he’ll create more assists and even score more goals than he will create a mistake. The positives seem to outweigh the negatives so to speak.
The other Barry that played football and is a genuine legend . Barry Murphy, got a nose bleed if he got anywhere near the half way line.
He's a bit of a rough diamond but I really like him. He's enthusiastic and gives 100%. He's unpredictable as well which makes it hard for defenders. Needs to work on his positional play but we've a committed player and that's what fans want
