Hi. Trying to persuade my lad to go. We are season ticket holders but not yet got tickets. I understand we could go for free, but eticketing not showing today’s game as an option. Can anyone tell me if this means a) no issue we just show phone QR code at turnstiles for free entry or b) we would be required to pay entrance fee? It’s not clear. Thanks in advance.
I’ve just posted in another thread, I’ve been trying since Thursday to get a ticket, but the links takes you to a page that says ‘0 results found’ basically I ‘ve given up and going to watch the cricket instead. I reckon there were only ever a limited number of free tickets for ST holders
Quite possible but we know few will go. It would just be good to know. It’s not about having to pay it’s the seeming difficulty evidently people are seeing.
@Orared claiming they phoned club last week and were told to "just turn up and show ST" for free admission.
Turned up with my pre booked tickets on my phone as instructed to do so by the club for seats we wanted to sit in. Bloke on turnstiles proceeded to give me two tickets for 2 different seats I didn't want to sit in. Asked him if I could sit in my booked seats instead and he said I couldn't and then mumbled something about it not being full when I challenged him. He didn't even have a scanner to scan the codes on my digital tickets. Why are we so **** at stuff like this and comms.
Decent start to the season. Could clearly see that Alnwick have been going for a few years and been successful. We looked a new team, still gelling, still gaining fitness and ability, but a good effort. And another day it could have quite easily been 0-0.
At turnstile I was told that the system was down so he couldn't scan. He gave me a ticket and said it was their way of keeping tabs on the numbers. At no time did he tell me I had to sit on the seat related to the ticket he gave me so I sat with my mates in our usual seats.
Same. Gave us tickets but said to sit where we had pre-booked. Bit strange having no scanner, but didn’t make a difference. Also, they only print off physical tickets that are available for the turnstiles, so can’t be duplicated.
Alnwick were a class above yet didn't create much in reality. Main issue I think the Barnsley team have is that it looks like the entire team have no pace, yet the tactics seemed to be diagonal balls over the top into the box. Alnwick defenders easily outpaced the forward line to tidy up. Obviously the first game so can't be too harsh but a lot of fitness work required as well. Great turnout and a lovely day for it.
