    This is problem with this club, even the fanbase is obsessed with younger, younger, younger

    As in compared to Norwood and how long he realistically could play for us.

    It wasn't as in much younger but being 18 or 19

    Norwood was great and I'd like him still here but if it's a choice between the two then Cosgrove is younger and fitter and likely to score as many goals. That's the thrust of what is being said.
    The only exponent of youth trumping everything that this board has ever had was banned two years ago.

    Some of us would rather have Norwood, some Cosgrove

    In reality the strikeforce is much stronger with them both and we could have easily done that

    60 mins of Norwood
    then bring on Cosgrove
    or other way round

    Cosgrove is a Tedic replacement anyway, big tall targetman, I dont know why this comparison was even brought up

    It's was clearly a combination of us assessing Norwood's worth to the club compared to having to offer him a further two years to keep him.
    The manager and club obviously thought it wasn't value. I would probably have thought different though I wouldn't have been happy about the size of him when he showed up for pre season and I was one of his biggest fans.

    I don't even know where to begin with that one.

    Surely you can see the benefit in having a 26 year old striker over a 33 year one. One's probably coming up to their peak, and ones career is in its 'twilight'.

    One brings bags of experience and leadership to a very young squad, the other one doesnt.


    I can see the flip side when you compare the attributes too

    Norwood is quicker than cosgrove

    Norwood is more agile

    Norwood has better ball control

    And of course

    Norwood is better at pressing

    Norwood is far more tenacious and aggressive

    Norwood also plays for a National league side and was subbed on Saturday whilst drawing with Gateshead in front of just over a thousand fans .

    I literally said in another thread I was excited about Cosgrove, just saying you can easily flip the argument to the other side when your comparing strenghts and weaknesses
