    Completely embarrassed himself by doing that interview. He was in a no win situation by doing it, so the least he could have done was rolled out the old spiel about protecting his family's future etc.

    It speaks a lot more about your character than just greed if the 300k a week wage increase is on top of the 200k a week he was getting at Liverpool (as well as being the club captain)

    There's a huge difference between the handful of people that actually give a toss about his moral standpoint and the number of people just bellaching on social media until they move onto the next Tory sleaze crisis/celebrity fall from grace. It doesn't take much to ignore the noise and make sure your grandchildren have sufficient trust funds to last them to 100 years of age.

    And for the number of comments above relating to my sarcastic comment, I wouldn't even visit these countries based on their standpoint on women, never mind their stance of LGBTQ.

    Seriously BrunNer. That comment does not come over as sarcastic whatever way you look at it. Hence the replies you attracted.
    As for a handful of folk that give a toss. If you did a poll I reckon it would be millions, given the outfall.
    And lots of folk if not the majority would not worry about leaving trustfunds for grandkids as a valid reason to work there.
    You've already covered that point yourself btw. with your stance on human rights, I'm guessing.

    Thanks for making presumptions on my moral code.

    As for the "millions", that's ********, it's just the usual griping. Shall I point you to the number of UK visitors to the UAE and Saudi Arabia every year? Or shall I point to the Government we have to demonstrate that the moral compass on this site is not the moral compass of the UK public at large.
