Saturday's ref Sunny Gill comes in at number 3. How about rookie referee, Ruebyn Ricardo. No yellow cards issued.
Thought first half he was alright (didn't see the cosgrove non-foul properly), but second half he gave so many soft fouls to Grimsby. Surprised Benson didn't get a yellow though because he must have had about 6 fouls against him. Probably an average performance, wouldn't like to think what he'd be like in a league game, full-blooded with 5 x the attendance
He's only ever taken charge of one football league game before. Usually does the National League and below.
Interesting to know - thanks. I liked the fact he didn't brandish any yellows, I don't particularly think any were worthy of one. Just don't like how many soft fouls he gave, but not bad considering then
Commented in the match thread and just thought he was letting stuff go until he realised he hadn’t given a foul for a couple of minutes and then gave a soft one stamp his authority on the game again. Poor, but not biased or deliberately finicky. 3/10
Once again a 10 without reason, numpty marking is spoiling this. Suggestion for Archey here, any ‘extreme’ marks such as 0 and 10 should be discounted if the poster doesn’t post their reasoning.
Couldn’t agree more mate. I would also add he was that obsessed with letting the game go that he ended up not giving cards when he should have done. Benson as mentioned by others, but also the guy who went through the back of Mael. His injury was caused by a bad foul, probably because the perpetrator knew it would go unpunished after what had gone on beforehand.
