    Now favourite to be top goal scorer for the season.
    Credit to the lad, looks fitter than ever before, his ability to poach anything that comes across the box is second to none.
    Imperative we get him on a new deal imo, the funds are there, so no excuses, if he continues as he is he'll easily break the 20 goal mark and be significantly more valuable to the club and the balance sheet, win win all round.

    Really impressed with how he's busted a gut leading the line this year. I hope he has a prolific season.

    Have to agree that this season so far is the best he’s looked. At 28 I’ve a feeling he’ll be looking for one last good pay day and if he carries on as he is there’ll be interest in him.
    Be hard for us to get him to extend I reckon.

    I fear you could be right, surely worthy of being the top earner, though I suspect his age will be the first barrier our board can't see past.

    Absolutely delighted for him. Tbh if I were in his boots I don’t think I’d be overly committed to extending. He probably doesn’t feel the fans have ever truly backed him until now. Even last season finishing as top scorer, there were plenty who didn’t rate him and were happy to put it down to a ‘one off’. So they can hardly now expect him to jump at signing on for longer.

    I'm not too fussed to be honest. Glad he's scoring goals and the team is winning. Long may that continue.

    He certainly doesn’t seem to be missing Lord Norwood at all. In fact it’s crossed my mind that he performing better without him

    If he carries on playing like he is, then he'll definitely attract interest. The thing is, if we go up then the jury is still out as to how effective he'd be at the higher level. He'd definitely have earned another crack at it, though.

    If we stay down, then he'll definitely be a key player. Could he earn more money elsewhere? Probably. But some players are just a good fit at a certain club. I think that this is the case for Devante, so he may want to stay for footballing reasons.

    Imo he will gone in the January window I think he’s in his last years contract with us and at 28 can’t see the board wanting to give him a new contract but might be wrong

    I'll be surprised if he signs a new deal with us. If he keeps his form up this season, a Championship club will take him on a free for significantly more money.

    Need to get Marsh signed up though. Isn't he only on a one year deal?

    Lol he only has to score 5 more all season and he has equaled norwoods 11 in 46 games last season. And he's scored more than Norwood has in the mickey mouse league so far this season.

    I think Cole and Norwood were decent mates didn't Cole take him to training as Norwood was banned from driving?

    Yes Marsh just got a 1 year deal I thought we might have realised him tbh but gave him a 1 year and looks really good now.

    And Norwood's departure has nothing to do with Cole doing well so far
