I see you're coming up to your 2-week anniversary on this board tomorrow and still nothing positive to say.

You appear to be just a WUM.

Very difficult to strike a ball off a silver platter, especially if it's wrapped up.

I suppose you think Norwood is better than prime Gary Lineker, given the amount of tap ins he scored?

The few are outshouted by the many. I'm sure he can hear the ritual song. And that's been going since he's been here. The times I hear folk say. "I dont know why Cole gets criticism" far outweigh actual criticisms. I also think Cole in his goal celebrations looks a lot happier.

I think his off the ball workrate is better than most strikers. Norwood on the other hand was exceptional. Not sure he could have gone 90 minutes though at that level.

As for poacher. Re Cole. Does score most, in or around the box, But I'd put the goal he scored against Derby at home, up at the top of goals for last season. He started it on the halfway line near enough.

Good point but his improvement has also coincided with playing every game. I always thought he was harshly treated in our championship season.

For me Norwood always had a good 25 to 30 minutes in him per game. In this period he was worth his weight in gold. For the other hour or so, he offered very little

With Cosgrove signed can see Devante easily getting 20 to 25 goals this season

I'd be amazed if he signed a new contract with us and didn't leave for nothing at the end of the season. Fans haven't ever really held him dear despite his song and I think he knows it as he doesn't particularly celebrate his goals with the fans. Last season he scored more than anyone had for a while and yet many didn't even put him in their top 3 for POTY.

Looking forward to seeing Cosgrove on the end of the crosses we get in from either side. Him and Cole attacking the ball in there is nice prospect. Think McAtee playing behind them as a 10 would be great too.

Ruud Van Nisterooy scored 150 goals for Manchester United, with just one against Charlton being outside the box. It doesn't matter how you score goals as long as you do.

His dad didn’t score many outside the box either.

his development over the last 12 months has been fantastic. Lots of strikers peak around his age. Suspect he will move on next year but he will be important for us this season

Cole has found his club for him to be the best he can be, we have seen it loads of times where players move on and disappear, they earn a bit more money to sit in the stands.
We have a chance to have a player at his peak to stay and play the best football of his career. This is Coles choice not ours or the clubs I hope he makes the most of his career stays and becomes a reds legend.

I doubt any of that will mean anything to him. He won’t see Division 3 being the pinnacle of his career. I don’t think he’ll come anywhere near being considered a Reds legend, even if he stays. If a Champ team comes in for him in Jan and doubles or triples his money, he’s off like a shot.

Yeah, I think it's fairly obvious now. He's been here for 5 minutes and it's all he's done.

I agree but he will be off like a shot on to a championship bench for a couple of seasons then off back down like Winnall.

I’ve been critical of Cole, but this season he seems to have upped his game no end. His performances and finishes have been excellent. With great service coming in from both flanks, thanks to Cadden and Cotter (and with Dodgson and O’Keefe also able to come in on the flanks Cole is going to get plenty of chances), plus he now has a big target man to play alongside I can see why he is topping the betting. If he carries on the way he’s playing he should become a rare 20 goal Reds striker.

I’ve been watching the Reds since 1977 and it is absolutely crazy that in all that time, despite all the promotions and near misses, only one Reds striker*, Sam Winnall, has got 20 league goals in a season. In fact, only two players have, the other being Ronnie Glavin. Peterborough, with far less success and money than us over that period, seem to have a 20 goal striker every sodding season!

    * okay, Ashley Ward and David Gaddis would almost definitely have reached 20, had they not been sold, whilst Woodrow and Moore would both have got 20 and we’d have finally won a ruddy league title, had they both not missed a third of the season through injury, pipping Luton…whatever happened to them?

If anyone wants him in January our board should say no. His goals could get us promoted.
