Does anyone think there was anything untoward about it all? A know there’s plenty of conspiracy theories out there……..me personally I don’t thing there’s was. Was anyone off here over in the states or even in New York on that sad day? It’s certainly a day that changed the world
I listened on the car radio on the way down to colchester mate. then watched it unfold on sky news in a pub when we got there. Totally surreal. A minutes silence was held b4 the game. What struck me most was the protestations of a Barnsley fan behind me who we both know. Complaining about delaying the start of the game. Admittedly we had no idea of the huge numbers who died at that time. Although it was obvious many had. Me. Ged and Alan Graham RIP (you may not remember him ) travelled . Conspiracy theories will allus be commonplace mate. Holocaust deniers. Moon landing Kennedy Assassination
2 things I don't get my head around. 1) The scenes of devastation as tall buildings falling; we all saw the mess, but they happened to find 6 passports that first day. 2) Pentagon. Nothing adds up. We were told every cop car available headed to the site, yet not a bit of footage. Yet put Harry Hill on TV and there's 10 mins each episode of footage from American cop cars showing funny stuff. The point being American cop cars have used camera tech since the late 60s.
1. I suspect they faked the passports as evidence to support what they thought they knew and gain public support. Actually the people that America claimed were the hijackers are still alive now. 2. The pentagon is a highly sensitive place, I reckon they suppressed footage for that reason.
Building 7? The fact they put the collapse down to "it was the fires"? Suppression of evidence? Larry Silverstein? The passports? The American airspace security system suddenly being reduced back to the Stone Age for that morning? There are still a lot of questions unanswered 20 years later.
My personal opinion is that I don’t believe in any conspiracy theory with the exception of the whole Bin Laden killing, it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s still alive (or was) and locked up somewhere due to his knowledge on the whole al Qaeda network.
It was the trusses. Hence the saying in the building trade "never trust a truss". There was no fire proofing on the support beams in the building. They effectively melted inside the concrete and causes the building to turn into a blamonge that couldn't support itself.
A do remember Alan well a great bloke, never short of a smile was he, my dads told me some funny stories over years
I agree the yanks used it as an excuse to wage war on the middle east. After September 11 and Afghanistan came the inevitable Iraq war. It was nailed on. They used Al Qaeda as an excuse to finish the job in Iraq.
Bin Laden was an Arsenal fan who regularly went to Highbury, so he might have been interrogated on his views of the George Graham era.
