We’ve had so me great strikers but we are better known for centre backs.

In my time McCarthy and Futcher have got to be up there.

+1 for De Zeuuw. Not sure he’s the best we’ve ever had but certainly a favourite. Grew into being a proper premier league player whilst learning and perfecting his craft with us. Think Stonesy will win the best defender we’ve ever produced discussion...just a shame we didn’t get to enjoy him in a red shirt for a while longer.

For younger fans, can you describe them as players? I've only ever known big Mick as a manager and never even seen videos of futcher playing

We’ve had some good ‘uns in my time of watching including: Macca, Ian Evans, Dezuew, but my favourite is Paul Futcher, elegance, aggression, passing accuracy, he had it all, oh and a bit of a temper as well:D

De Zeeuw and Pinnock are the best two in my memory. Difficult to pick one as they were so different and played at two very different times.

You could write a long, long list of the very good centre backs we've had.
Straying from the obvious....Gary Fleming, Stuart Gray, Larry May just for a start.
