Brilliant watch that. Can't say there's a weak episode in either series, surprised more haven't watched it though. Favourite episode? Mine would be episode 7 series 1 and Forks
Christmas is possibly top ten hours of TV ever made. Forks is wonderful, granted. The soundtrack is just out of this world too.
It sounds ****, but it's the story of a fella who takes over his recently deceased brother's restaurant.
As the owner of a hospitality business, I found the first episode so excrutiatingly and viscerally stressful that I physically couldn't cope with it, and had to tell my partner that I was tapping out and she'd have to watch the rest of the series by herself. I had to switch it off halfway through. This is very much a good thing, I think! I look forward to catching up with it in a few years' time.
There's episodes that are a lot more stressful than that as well! It's cracking telly. Severance and Slow Horses on Apple TV are both very very good as well.
Yeah, absolutely love both of those. I'm sure I'll enjoy The Bear as well eventually, but at the moment it just cuts slightly too close to the bone. I'm not joking when I say that my reaction was physical - closest I've ever come to feeling like I'm having a panic attack.
There's an episode where they start doing takeout and someone forgets to set a limit on the orders they can take. That elicited physical discomfort, similar to watching Uncut Gems, which is basically a 2 hour heart attack.
Oh, just a bar - we do very little food really. But coming in so soon after covid, that combo of the bills piling up and environmental health lurking just really hit me hard.
It's summat I've always fancied. Cafe bar style thing. Don't wanna work in it or have to make any money from it like.
