Can’t believe that there are only 2 matches in league 1 today

As soon as one club bottles it because they've had someone called up for Azerbaijan U19s everyone else does. I'm sure it never used to happen. Maybe it highlights how much the quality of player in L1 has improved over the years that so many have internationals on the books. Either way, it's bloody annoying.

Do Portsmouth even have the 3 required international call ups? I can't think of any they've got at all

No international breaks used to be the one tiny silver lining to getting relegated (along with actually winning a few games).

Might as well just stay in the Championship now!

In what team though? I thought Devlin and lane were northern Irish and they aren't in the northern Irish squad

Paddy Lane has been added to the Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers.

He replaces Pompey team-mate Gavin Whyte in the squad, with the forward having been substituted with an injury during Saturday's home victory over Peterborough.

Michael O'Neill's side visit Slovenia on Thursday (7.45pm kick-off) and then Kazakhstan on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

They currently sit fifth in Group H after collecting three points from their opening four matches.

Joe Morrell is also on senior international duty with Wales, while Terry Devlin is part of the Northern Ireland under-21 squad.
