Capitalism in a post-industrial society. Caviar. Plugin air fresheners. Malt whisky. Expensive haircuts. Tattoos. Dame Judy Dench (although she's obviously not a 'thing').
100%. Literally plays the same character in everything she's ever in, and I don't even believe it's a character because it's exactly how she is in real life as well.
Reading novels, or more specifically its impact on you as a person. The fact that you enjoy fiction absolutely does not make you intellectually richer, it just means you like stories.
Yes, absolutely. I made a concerted effort in my teens to read as many classic novels as possible, I was proper earnest as a kid. Don't get me wrong, some I really enjoyed, some not so much. But I fail to see how it made me any intellectually richer, I just had a nice time or didn't have a nice time, no different to watching sport or TV series (and got a bit better at pub quizzes). Way, way too much intellectual snobbery around the act of reading fiction. It's exactly the same type of snobbery as that daft lad the other day that likened playing rugby to some sort of warrior brotherhood that gives you a deeper meaning than other people. No mate, it's just a hobby you enjoy like any other.
Take that back! Heresy! Can’t imagine life without the two drawer XL Ninja now. Genuinely the best thing I’ve bought in many a year. Great bit of kit.
It’s convenient without a doubt, but I am yet to find anything that tastes better by being cooked in the air fryer.
