Aye!, I know the current interpretation of the law but it doesn't cover everyone and the criteria is pretty loose what I mean is any one wether it's the 1st time or the 20th they have bred dogs a license should be required......sithi.

I here people say that its down to the owners but thats not strictly true is it' dogs have been bred over the centuries to have certain instincts and attributes in order to do certain jobs thats why border collies are used by shepards' spaniel types for shooting or as sniffer dogs' mostly Labs for guide dogs etc' back in 1800s bull terriers were bred to fight so their biggest attribute was aggression' so like it or not it is in the breed' although i do agree that some of these owners shouldn't be allowed owt near animals ..

I have a staffie now 13 years old my partner moved in with me 6 years ago and brought her two lasah apzo one male one female, the male lasah is the worst out of the three goes mental at other dogs and can be sleeping with the staffie one minute the next he goes for her, the staffie gets out of his way when he does.
It's all down to the owner and how they are trained up bringing, environment etc.

I'm sure my uncle has the similar type of dog and she's a beauty. She wouldn't hurt a fly. When I use to have a drink and a take away with them the dog use to share chips with the cat XD

So you’re saying your partner has trained the female dog better than the male?

There's an element of truth in saying the owners are to blame for dog attacks. There's also an element of truth in saying that certain breeds are more likely to attack AND more likely to cause serious injury or death. All owners should have to have a license and be able to produce it on the spot or within 24 hours if requested by authorities. Certain classes of dogs should at the very least be compulsorily muzzled so if you get one you know you will have to muzzle it. All dog breeders should have to have a license and tracked for the license through the dog's microchip. There will be one or two other things I've not thought of too. Of course stuff like this needs a bit of bureaucracy and infrastructure to police but we're talking Tory here so there will be nothing apart from sound bites and blanket bans so the government looks like it really cares whereas in fact its not overly concerned.

I think the lasah has a dose of little dog syndrome only towards other dogs never towards humans. I think or he may have banged his head as a pup, he is a gormey dog in general. The female lasah dog is very miled manoured and is the mother to the male lasah they all get on and have integrated well together.
Out of our three the two females are the better behaved of the three.

I also do work in customers houses and the amount of times the customer says are you OK with dog my reply is yeah as long as they are OK with me but I am coming into there territory and no matter how well behaved and placid the dog may be I always say its better to move them as they may not like a stranger in there home.

To say the breed has nothing to do with temperament or how dangerous a dog can be is either wilful ignorance or a new level of stupidity. If the breed has nothing to do with behaviour why have humans spent a thousand years breeding different types of dogs for different jobs? Jesus some people will refuse to admit the truth even when it’s been so deeply accepted for centuries.

Any dog can snap just like any other animal can and that includes humans.

So far in this thread I have learned:
    • dogs are like guns
    • all larger dogs could kill
    • all dogs that could kill should be banned
    • better ban horses and cows too
    • and cars
    • the clue is in the name so be suspicious of foreign dogs; Shih Tzu means 'little lion' in Mandarin and we know lions cannot be trusted
    • Supertyke loves breeding bullies

Get a little tiger cub. Raise it properly, plenty of love and when it grows up get the next door neighbour's little kid to stick it's head in the tiger's gob. If its all down to the owner the tiger won't crush the kid's skull. That's what I've learned...

The owner and deceased were known to each other, it is being speculated that the dog was purposefully set upon the man hence the murder charge rather than failure to control.

That's how I read it mate. And makes sense. But I can't remember anyone else, ever get charged with murder.

    Edit, managed to find this.
