Ref vs Grimsby Ruebyn Ricardo falls just short of the mark and slots into second behind Carl Brook after a recount.

How do you rate Marc Edwards performance vs Burton. One the one hand, he tried to let the game flow, and didn't book anyone, on the other he let a lot go which would have otherwise been a foul and maybe a yellow card. Also, should we have had a penalty for handball?

Not seen replay but thought Phillips should have had one when he was brought down

Not a penalty for handball imo

I liked him. Any going to ground, too easy, was just ignored, as were a few legitimate fouls, but the game just kept flowing. In fact, I bet this was the most minutes of ball in play, out of 90, that we have seen for a long time. Particularly when we had two subs waiting an age to come on but the game just wouldn’t stop.
I don’t like cheap yellows, they will bite us later in the season, so good to see none dished out.
He didn’t have any big calls to make, though. The handball being the only one. Though right in front of me, I missed it, it happened so quick.
But, as a ref, he didn’t hog the limelight, it just played out like a kids Sunday morning match and, no disrespect to Burton, but that’s what they played like too.

The game flowed nicely, he didn't get involved where he wasn't required.
No real tackles to get rattled about so overall he did a decent job letting the game move. I didn't really notice him so I suppose that's good.

Did a good job for me, got most of the calls right, unfussy, didn’t want to make the game about himself unlike a lot of refs.

I liked that at the start he wanted to let the game flow but then it felt like Burton started to take advantage of this and kick/push us a bit.

I think the Kane one probably was handball, he came charging out with his arms up. But Kane did hit it very hard. Not seen the disallowed goal back but I guess that would be down to the linesman anyway.

Excellent display overall. Sensible, unfussy, tried to let the game flow. Cadden was pushed in the build up to the Kane shot but stayed on his feet. Think it was a foul, though if it had been given against us I'd have been livid. Looked more of a pen at the match than on the replay. I also thought that the block was never a handball, and still don't having seen it again. Best ref we've had for ages.

6 from me, spoilt a decent performance with a few glaring fouls not punished, one in particular stands out where there player went straight through the back of Cole near the half- way line, he was only a few yards away and didn’t give anything. See the 10 markers post nothing as per

So the one on Cole where he went straight through him near the halfway line was fine was it?

Decent. When he erred, he erred on the trying to let the game flow side which is fine by me so long as he keeps control, which he did, calmly.

At the time, that one looked outside the box.

Nah, right in front of us. The defender just stood his ground. Phillips turned quickly and straight into him.

The foul on Cadden would have been a clear penalty, had Cadden not stayed on his feet. There aren’t many players who would have stayed on his feet there. In fact, I reckon about 90% of players (100% in the Premiership) would have gone down.

The most glaring foul that was missed was the two handed push right in front of the linesman, down in the corner between the Ponty and the west stand. It couldn’t have been any more blatant. I was astonished that neither the ref nor, particularly, the linesman didn’t give that one.
