They looked shell shocked and well they might. 3 quick goals, invited pressure onto themselves, but this is all down to the ref and linesman. How is it a penalty if the attacker has already got his shot away?
Another thing is that when we are been pressed as efficiently as pompy, you need the midfield to either do the same or if we don't have the skill set knock it long but we don't have the people on the pitch to hold it up. My first decision would be to bring on Cosgrove to do this and O'Keefe because he is a better player than Cotter and will offer something. Finally Styles for Russell to get some pace into the midfield...I'm guessing really though!!
Please tell me no one is surprised by this a back 3 of Anderson, Kitching and Thomas replaced by Williams playing out of position, McCart from Rotherham reserves and Lopato from woking. They might be ok once in a while but they also might get walloped. Such is.
If I know crap managers he'll make 5 changes and hide behind the players putting in a poor performance and not following instructions.
Got to make changes, however I’m not sure how much difference they will make if the tactics stay the same. This second half is gonna be the first big marker for me, on Collins’ qualities as a coach.
Agree with this, no suprise to me, a warning shot was fired in the Peterborough game where we went from 1-0 up to conceding 3 soft goals in less than 10 minutes. Tonight has been a disaster so far. We look all over the place at the back. Irrespective of how young some of the players are though there is no excusea for failing to pick up the runners and staying goal side.
What blows my mind is Collins is an experienced centre back in these leagues, so you'd think his management style and tactical nous would be set up for a defensive masterclass. I'd say the opposite is more apparent.
