Can honestly think of much worse tbh. And if you look it up it's probably more common than you think. It's still pronounced Ben btw. As is Jayne to Jane. What some kids are called today totally bemuse me and probably have an impact on em growing up. It becomes a fashion. I may be old hat but those that marry with surnames of both partners make me wonder what name their offspring will do if marrying another double barrelled surname. There will be more changes of name by deed poll to come to an agreement. wassocks
There was a kid called Leee with three "e's" in my nephew's class. For me, it's just asking to be spelled wrong. Celebrities set the silly trend with names like Moon-unit, Apple, Harper 7 etc. which seems to have influenced young uns. We had a double barrelled named kid at school who was teased for being too posh. He dropped the first half of it as he got older a bit like Phil Martin-Chambers did. Kids can be cruel so owt out of the ordinary will get picked on.
Are you saying Martin was part of a double barrelled surname. I genuinely thought it was his middle name. If so, As they say. Every day is a schoolday.
Yes, when he played for England schoolboys, his name was Phil Martin-Chambers. By the time he got into Barnsley's first team it was Phil Chambers.
@Hooky feller , his brother Dave Martin-Chambers played for York City but he kept the double barrelled name so the two brothers appeared in the programme with different surnames whenever they played against each other.
Just reminded me... Bloomin heck only time I've been to watch any kind of england game at wembley was England v Wales schoolboys circa 1970. Proud to see a Barnsley lad in the side. Phil Chambers lol.
I used to go out with a girl called Jaine... She was a personal trainer. It didn't last that long was a massive Eddie Vedder / Pearl Jam fan. One of the most vacuous bands of the grunge era.
We had one Keith, that was enough. Let's stick with O'Keeffe. I am a semantic warrior, fair play, but the lad is a real talent in my book & we could at least try & spell his name right.
