He arguably deserves a spot on our bench but if the manager sees him as 5th choice for the foreseeable future then it’s far better for him to be playing regularly for York than for our kids.
Watters? Really. Did you see, or go to the match on Saturday? Watters did zero. Waste of a shirt at the moment, unless he bucks his ideas up. Marsh would be well before him in contention for me. Hope he proves me wrong.
If he's any hope of making it for us, he really needs to bang some goals in at that level. We can't hang on to him forever just because he's a local lad that we want to do well. His loan period at Scunny was a failure. This one needs to be more of a success.
Last time I went to York I was able to buy parking in advance from the club website - they have (or had) a part of the shopping centre car park reserved for football. Worth checking out.
Absolutely ******* stupid decision. Aiden marsh has proven time after time that he has got skill and heart and yet we farm him out and continue to play absolute waste of spaces like watters and the rest every week.
MMmm I would'nt call him a donkey. We have 4 where I work. " full size and 2 dwarf. All of them make a good deal of noise, eat a lot of snap and fail to entertain the public by hanging around the furthest part of the field. So he's not a donkey. Much.
Can't really understand this one tbh. I thought we would have released Marsh in the summer if I'm honest, but he's been good this year when given the chance looked lively scored and should be on the bench for me.
My question is simple. Do we have 4 strikers better than Aiden marsh at the club currently? And the answer in my experience and by using my eyes to see what the players do on the pitch in games is that it's a resounding no we do not.
With respect, you are misunderstanding what a 4 week loan is. If it was 6months or a season, then fair enough. But a 4 week loan clearly means he’s in the gaffer’s Matchday thoughts, but needs more guaranteed minutes to get his fitness/pace bang on. This is what the move gives him - and I presume he’ll have some contractual guarantees at York too over his minutes. In 5 weeks time, you then have a fully up to speed centre forward - we’ve only got Cole at the mo who’s got that momentum of minutes in the pitch. Being a young lad from Barnsley, sometimes getting that sharpness away from the club, at a good level will really help him. Fully expect him to return and be on the bench then at least.
In the meantime we'll continue to have Watters strolling around pinching a wage for the second season running
I'm surprised by this. I had assumed that the sending out on loan for the season of Shaw and Dallas meant that Marsh and Jalo were both likely to be getting some game time. As we have 7 subs, I don't see why we can't have three strikers on the bench and then decide which one or two to send on, according to the way the game is going and the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition. I hope Jalo isn't going to be sent out on loan too. He has the skill to get us a goal out of nowhere.
I'm surprised he's not been on the bench for us since hte international break, but if he's not going to get much game time here then a month on loan will be good for him. Hopefully score a few and come back here to get in our team
I can see it's a good move for him to get out and play some games. However, I do believe he is already a more effective option for us than Watters, who to me offers very little. Hopefully Marsh will play for York, play well, and be back with us and in our squad.
