It's already been said that a number if clubs are interested. His contract is up at the end of the season I believe. Our hand may be forced.
I don't see any benefit of selling him in January. With his age and contract length, he's not going to command a huge fee, unless someone in the league above is really desperate for a striker in January (Boro maybe). He's one I can see us letting his contract run down. I just hope we're in talks to extend it.
You've got to wonder where the goals will come from if he does go, given the latest input from Watters and Cosgrove.
It's another Sam Winnall this , I can see him going to Wednesday in January. They trebble is wages ,we get a fee. Everyone gains apart from the fans. Never mind ,we got Watters for nx 4 years ,he may come good by the end of his contract.
He has to be offered a new contract to sign before January, if he doesn't sign then he has to go for the best fee possible. I do not believe he should run his contract down and go for nothing irrespective of how many goals he may or may not score in the second half of the season.
What about Kane ,commentary today mentioned we paid 1.25 million for him. He walks for free at the end of the season, I think ?????
Thing is though with six months contract left we would probably get 500 grand off someone like let's say Middlesbrough.Surely if we are in with a shout of promotion keeping him is worth more than that monetary amount !
Im not sure the board think like the fans tbf. I agree with your point. But I've seen how this pans out, year in year out. It won't change.
Brilliant goal by Devante to run half the pitch and finish it himself. Good to see him showing more emotion as well because he's usually quieter how he goes about things.
Same again offer contract if they don't sign sell for as much as possible in Jan. Use the second half of the season to bed in his replacement. I would offer all decent players who are good enough to make the starting 11 a contract extention 1 year before it expires if they don't sign sell don't let any first team players go for free.
If we're there or thereabouts come January then I'd hope we'd try our hardest to keep him, even if he does go for nothing in the summer. If we're languishing in mid table I wouldn't blame the club for wanting to get what they can out of a championship side desperate for goals.
