Max Watters is completely garbage...

He can finish, and he's fast.

He doesn't seem to have the happy knack of being in the right place at the right time though. He did for Crawley, not for us yet.
He might get the chance of a run of games in January.

 

I haven't been impressed with tap watter but folk said the same about Cole and today I watched his goal and thought his running had been speeded up kids rapid now.... hopefully watters can come good.

 

I thought he was good last season but has been poor this season up to now. I’m not overly concerned though. I think there’s a decent player in him.

 

I was happy we signed him. So far this season he hasn’t lived up to expectations. But the reality is it’s posts like this that are completely garbage.

 

He offers nothing to the team and their was nothing in his performances last season to suggest there is a player in him. Who ever thought a 4 year contract was in order has just burdened the club with another Iseka.

 

Awful today. I posted on X that he needs a rocket up his arse and now have a temporary ban for the first time even before they say it incites violence. Hope he’s happy

 

Stats on 'wiki' lol. His goals to minute ratio is really good. People saying he did nothing last season for us to prove he's worth a punt, and I disagree. People never rated Cole. People didn't rate bin juice Norwood. Is it really so hard just supporting a player instead of bashing them constantly, even after we've won? Criticism is fine, but some folk on here are pathetic.

If not Watters then, who should we have signed at the time, on our budget ?. We couldn't have just put Adie Marsh up there instead, putting pressure on him and then slagging him off after a bad 20 minute spell.

 

Some of those goals were for Grantham Town, barking, Ashford United etc

 

I wasn’t overly convinced last season when we had him on loan. Even less so now that we’ve got him on a 4yr deal. Happy to be proven wrong as always though. As for signing someone else instead of him, just play Marshy. Surely can’t be any worse and will run his blood to water for the shirt.

 

I thought watters did more today than Cosgrove he looked unfit and just couldn't chase players down.

 

We can say this now because Marsh has had some great cameos for us this season - but if we went into the season without getting in a striker, the fans would have ripped the board a new harsehole. Nobody expected Marsh to be a first teamer. Hopefully he comes back from his loan and works his way into the first team as he's looked very exciting

 

The same people who are currently ripping Watters to shreds would be doing exactly the same to Marsh if he'd had a poor run.
There's, predictably, some ridiculous comments on this thread.

 

They are the stats. In L1 he has 9 in 10 starts.

 

Hopefully a good little move for him. I would be expecting to see more of him upon his return if he is to stake a claim. Just think Waters is an all round poor signing.

 

Why ridiculous comments ??? I’ve hardly ripped Waters to shreds if that was aimed in my direction. I merely expressed an opinion that for me he’s a poor signing.

 

If we hadn’t signed watters the same posters would be criticising the board for relying on marsh. It’s heads they win tails you lose.

 

Or 5 in 27 appearances stats can be manipulated quite easily.
